Simple breakfast

I wish I could go to brunch everyday. Okay, I only half wish that because then it won’t be as fun because it’s not special anymore.

Baby is still sleeping so I can sneak into the kitchen & have a small something before he realizes it’s famine season again.

My breakfast today doesn’t look like much because it isn’t. It’s white bread with cream cheese built into in with a slather of peanut butter on top. I heat everything up, if I can. Food just tastes better that way. Except salad, that’s just weird.

Back to brunch. I am passionate about brunch. The mere idea that I can have breakfast for any other non-exclusive morning meal, is a sheer delight. First of all, I love carbs. Sweet carbs. Please don’t tell my nutritionalist.

When I was pregnant, I had to limit my carb intake & balance carbs with protein. Don’t get me wrong, I love protein but anything obligatory is not fun. Sometimes you just want carbs on itself.

There’s a dim sum dish that’s the epitome of this. It’s fried (yes) dough wrapped in rice noodle. Hello, Genius! I always coyly ask if anyone wants that and if anyone bites, then we’re gold.
