Breastfeeding ain’t a piece of cake

One of my favorite nursing positions is the lying down one.

The lactation specialist at the hospital taught me this one before we went home. I’m so glad she did because this would become 60% of all of our various feed-baby moves.

A good thing I learned is to keep your arm out straight when mother and baby are both lying on their sides, facing each other. Naturally, baby is properly aligned with mother but if you got a kicker on your hands like I do, the arm works wonders in keep little baby where they need to be.

Without my arm helpfully reminding baby to stay where the meal is, baby might successfully launch themselves upward, frustrating both the feeder and the feedee (or eater, whichever you prefer).

Us mommies got to ban together. I love my baby like a fat kid loves cake. But breastfeeding certainly ain’t a slice of that!
