The pho is alright

Back to my old stomping grounds on the outskirts of San Francisco. Hello, Daly City, I’ve missed you.

Trying out OK Pho on San Pedro Road and they’re right! The pho is ok.

What was great was their fresh spring rolls that have the perfect chewiness of fresh rice paper.

Calm got the seafood pho, his staple. The owner John boasts that his place doesn’t use any MSG… Nor does his sister restaurant Oriental Kitchen, next door.

Oriental Kitchen is close to my heart because that’s an old school haunt for me. Apparently, they have new rolls and dishes with veggies freshly chopped when ordered, unlike other places.

I got the bun rieu which was decent. The crab was fresh but the broth was just ok.

I got excited over their house made mango pudding! Yay & yum. Turns out dessert is the little gem here.

John told us about the Vietnamese sandwiches that they’ll be offering 6-10 a.m. After he told me they smoke their own ham, I knew I had to have a sandwich too… With pate of course.

Supporting local is important in enjoying delicious new places & it doesn’t get more local than DC.
