Baby’s first Elephant Bar experience. Since we buffeted earlier, we went light with the Cowboy Ribeye with sweet potato fries & sautéed veggies.
Off the Grid was in the parking lot of Serramonte Mall. I prided myself with restraint for not going for a snack to scope out the DC food truck offerings. Really it was too cold for baby to be outside. Sacrifice, yo.
The ribeye was cooked okay, perhaps a little too rare for the medium rare order. I’d rather eat a steak undercooked then over so didn’t bother to send it back.
The service was quite pleasant. Our server was attentive & liked baby. Of course, new moms eat that stuff up. The manager, John, came by to say hello, which we appreciated.
Given that this is one of my mom’s favorite spots, the mall attached restaurant is a good pick and is family friendly.
Usually baby digs the jams but after a long day, he was tired & didn’t appreciate the noisy atmosphere.
Overall, a nice experience & a good go-to spot. Perhaps they’ll hire my son as their mascot.
