Foie gras on top of tuna. Peach in there somewhere. Tis delicious. Just a taste of something I love & feel guilty loving. I’m sorry duck.
At Yuubi on Balboa in between 6th & 7th Ave, the sushi comes fast & fresh. Well, average timed really. But definitely fresh.
Greatest hits: sake (salmon, yes sir) & foie.
Uni interlude. Nice, chilled & this is when baby wakes up.
Top is trout; bottom is artic charr. I know they look the same. Trout has a nuttier flavor & charr is smoother. I surmise it is because the charr has a higher fat content. All our orange nigiri came out at the same time: curious.
Albacore. I’ll-be-back-core. You taste good in my belly.
I actually don’t know what this is. Tasted good. Mystery nigiri. Huh.
Additive roll. I thought it was called addictive roll. Pineapple, scallops, tuna & Mac nut on top. Tropic flavor, cuz. Pineapple overwhelmed the mild scallop. Liked it still.
Waygu beef. We all seemed to like this. Hidden pepper-y onions. Sauce precariously served in a martini glass secured by copious amount of wasabi. Wasteful or artistic? Both, I suppose.
Blurry Butterfish. Usually a favorite, tonight didn’t wow.
Bluefin tuna. This came around the same time as our foie gras tuna so this seems less impressive. Sorry tuna, that wasn’t fair to you.
A sweet finish of green tea tempura ice cream. Mango was good too!
Baby was relatively good, given he had a busy day of teething.
