Tough noogies, my late Torts professor Roderick Surrat used to say.
Amidst concerning health news, I’m faced with a sort of metamorphosis. Time to change. Or change enough to be in good health.
Luckily, HB’s eggy delight greets this weekend. Perfected with creme fraiche. Of course I love it because it is creamy, heart warming & packed with protein.
Coupled with MIL’s dumplings, we’re getting this show on the road.
Thick skinned, stuffed with shrimp, mushroom, & meat, these dumplings pack a lot of flavor in a little pocket.
In the other room, my other little pocket snoozes away. Since he started teething, his refusal to eat (at times) is leading to what I suspect to be a waning milk supply.
This is severely disappointing. Three attempts at pumping this morning to prepare for auntie’s concert where baby won’t be attending lead to a mere twoish ounces.
I think it’s payback for my very selectively pumping. Only when I need it, my body refuses to make what I am desperately clamoring for.
Guess it’s a metaphor for life. Struggle for it & it proves itself to be evasive. Or something like that.
At least I have papaya.
This California bought papaya is nothing compared to the sun ripened sweet hawaiian papaya.
Now, now don’t be such a downer. I do have a dental appointment to look forward to later.
Oh! Look who’s up:
Nothing can be ill if he be well. Joyous weekend to all!
