Eggsy and I are a lucky couple of geese.
Learned about solids and other baby eating type things at a class this morning. Take aways:
- Sippy cups were designed for the convenience of parents not for what baby needs. Straight to straw & open cups, per the ortho’s orders.
- Babies can basically eat anything except for a certain number of things like high Mercury fish & honey (no hunny until one year old). Certain foods are more likely to cause an allergic reaction. (Duh.)
- Parents provide the food: what, when & how often baby will eat. Baby decides how much & what they will eat. Respect these guidelines to help children develop a healthy relationship with food.
- None of that baby specific cereal snack thing. No nutrition. Sorry kiddo. (Regular Cheerios will suffice.)
After we got pumped up with knowledge, baby & I snacked. A walk in the Marina today reminded us that San Francisco is both beautiful & windy.
After cruising the waterfront, it was time for some fish! Sashimi that is.
Naked Fish on Chestnut in the Marina district is a yummy place to go. A bit too early for happy hour, we got a lunch bento instead. Their beef teriyaki is nice & tender. Eggsy definitely wanted in.
I am cultivating a profound appreciation for life, my family & friends in it, our blessings, both edible & non edible.
Look at this sweet moment between baby & grandma.
As Mother’s Day draws near, I am overwhelmed by a sense of a mother’s power & grace. I hope one day, without realizing it, I will have stepped into such gracefulness too.
A very special treat today: grandma bought Eggsy his very first piano from Giggle, also in the Marina!
A little baby grand. I have not yet set it up for him. When I do, I’m sure the neighbors will know it.
This kid is all smiles all the time except when he’s not. My heart widens at the sight of you.
