Baby firsts

Sweet six

Eggsy is six months today! My, how time flies.

First the newborn flurry. Now the sweet lullaby of tummy time, minor bumps on the head from trying new acrobats & the mess of mushy foods.

Funny how this little being changes everything.

The analogy of having a child is like discovering a new room in a house you’ve always lived in rings true.

Only I stay in this room 98% of the time. It’s okay; I’ve packed snacks. I think I’ll stay a while.

The development of a little child is remarkable. Baby rode in a shopping cart for the first time yesterday, belted in & holding on.

He is working on more effectively using a spoon during feedings to facilitate actual eating & a little less gagging.

He can sit up unassisted. Sometimes slouched over with the temptation of a toy.

He can easily pick up foods and feed himself. Seems all his new skills revolve around eating. Excellent survival instinct.

A decent sleeper too. Can’t fault the kid for wanting & needing to eat through the night. I get hungry too.

Eggsy is leggy at six months. Everyday I pick him up for our morning hug & he proves himself leggier than the day before.

The world isn’t so bad. There are parents absolutely in love with their children. Children discovering the simple joy of an aunt dancing in the living room & laughing hysterically.

I am tired. I am thrilled for this boy.

So many things you’ve yet to discover. I cannot wait to share these joys with you.
