Gratitude

Intention

Having a family is challenging. Being married is too.

I have three intentions for my family & I. Simple goals to focus on to build on the integrity & strength of our relationships.

  1. For my son. Be present. It’s easy to be distracted while taking care of the little guy & sometimes you have to be. But a lot of the time you don’t have to be. I’ll try to maximize our time together by really noticing the little subtle differences from day to day & to laugh with him (which he does a lot).
  2. For my husband. Practice kindness. Marriage is hard work. I didn’t have a prep course for this. I want to have the grit necessary to thrive in living & show the kindness to my partner that he deserves. I hope he’ll do the same.
  3. For myself. Be healthful. I want to live a long time & see my kid grow. I want to chose food that fulfills what my body needs & start being more active. I love to work out but I let life get in the way (plus I get lazy — hey, who doesn’t?). The trick is being gentle enough with myself that I treat myself well balanced with a firmness to choose well to nourish my body & soul.

I hope my family & friends will be thoughtful in what they are focused on. There are some morsels in life worth savoring & some worth letting go of. Choose well.
