Little sister flew the nest yesterday. Selfishly, I am sad to see her go but thrilled for her new life among the Space Needle.
The night before she left, I tried to coax her into having dinner but to avail. Without her, we had King of Noodle where baby had his first taste of hand pulled noodles.
The chewy consistency gave his gums something to naw on. Of course dumplings are a must.
Their soup dumplings or xiao long baos are delicious & burn your mouth hot. This place has little ventilation, so be prepared to sweat. Their lamb dumplings (far right) are also tasty, with corn & the kind of meat sister doesn’t eat.
To prepare sister pre-flight, we picked up lunch for her. Her favorite banh mi, fancy pork & pate coupled with an earl grey pudding.
The little savory square is new at Swich. Their self proclaimed “pop tart” has mushrooms & cheese. The pastry is buttery, rich, thick & divine. I like this.
Eggsy says goodbye to auntie with quiet cries. Or he could have been protesting the sun on his exposed leg. Either or, he was clearly upset.
Post drop off, we had the delight of hot pot with Tiff & Dick. The boys clamored for attention & were mildly successful. Little Sheep soup base is a genius mixture of oil, seasoning, & peppers.
The young night ended with pie.
Nation’s banana creme pie always seals the deal in the sweetest way.
We miss you already Smity. See you in a few far up North. Another adventure is ahead!
