Baby firsts

Yesterday was a lot of firsts for baby. He hopped on the train for the first time & was startled by the rocking.

We visited the Exploratorium at pier 15! Most exhibits went over Eggsy’s head, literally. He was marginally amused by lights & color. Mostly, we visited the restrooms & sat where we could.

Rocking chairs along a corridor are fit for a nursing baby. Only thrice attempts to feed baby were futile.

Taking a baby anywhere takes considerable planning. Lack of parking downtown was a great opportunity to try public transportation for the first time!

Coming home, we met up baby daddy & try to find the least congested bus route. We ended up walking through Chinatown, taking the 1 to Clement where we stumbled upon a quaint little bakeshop called Pretty Please.

A reward for surviving a relatively crowded bus was this perfect little coconut cream pie.

A delightfully thick & crisp pie crust, this is certainly a decadent pie. The filling is also thick & sweet. Now we have energy to find dinner!

After a small hunt, we come upon Lime Tree on Clement. We loved their Irving location. This one is equally as good. Surprisingly accommodating for children!

High chair, water cup for baby, full-sized changing table for the kiddies. These little details make dining with a wee one all the better.

The roti rivals that of Banana Island. Generously portioned, we even shared with baby.

The mixed veggies were a touch too salty but we hungrily gobbled it up nonetheless.

The noodles caught my eye for it had Chinese sausage in it. With a lemon wedge, the citrus brings flat rice noodles into a different realm for this Southeast Asian kitchen.

After resting the night, we took Guang Guang out for a walk & lunch to enjoy the rare sunny summer day.

Grandpa takes us to his special trail around the lake in GGP. He tells us how he & Smity feed the wildlife here. That’s probably not good but he talks of it so lovingly.

It is a special thing, to spend time with my grandfather, in his mid-eighties & my little son, but seven months.

A little reminder that life, with its imperfections, is quite wonderful. Prayers for those I know & don’t, who are going through extraordinary change. May you laugh along the way.
