Sweetness

We were so excited to have sister over this past weekend! Ordering our favorite takeout sushi, Yum Yum Fish fueled our little party.

My favorite roll is the creamy roll, a modified Philly roll with cream cheese, avo, cucumber & salmon on top. I top it with Unagi for the ultimate big bite.

We celebrated the coming of baby Jaxson! Congrats to the growing family!

Baby was so wonderfully celebrated. The earl grey macaroon was good, but the Vietnamese coffee macaroon was even better. SSF was warm & welcoming.

Eggsy greeted big brother Z. Or rather he stared at Uncle Trieubert. Soon the warmth got to baby & he was stripped. Dad fanned baby down with a paper plate.

Baby loves wearing his whale clothes Aunty Laura shared from Nikolas’ collection. Keeps him cool!

Eggsy has been spending time with cousin too. I think they’re learning from each other.

Stoic faces for them, encouraging smile for me. We discovered a new bun: a red bean paste with egg yolk.

I’m not the biggest fan of red bean in buns but this is quite good. I like the contrast of sweet & a touch of savory with the yolk.

In a special reunion with my high school friend, we savored lemon buttermilk tea bread from Arizmendi bakery.

This lush loaf was enjoyed with green tea for her & mint tea for me. After salad, chicken & nachos, we ventured to I-Tea to try their mango drink creations.

Mango sago for her, mango crystal (r) for me. Even with reduced sweetness, it packs quite a punch. I like the krema drinks there & now I like these too.

Baby is growing again! He can hold himself up, crawl at alarming speeds & eat impressive amounts of food! A love for food & adventure may be genetic.

We had our first lost shoe experience at Target. After discovering said lost shoe, we looked, reported to lost & found & found it among the piles of go-backs in an employee’s cart. Crisis adverted.

Baby doesn’t care if he has shoes or not. Perhaps we can all learn from this: fixating on minor details can exhaust you needlessly. May we all be a little more carefree & shoeless.
