Here lies durian pastries from dim sum today. I love durian. Most people either love or hate it. Its pungent smell is off putting to many. Its delectable taste & texture is irresistible to some.
Our table are all durian eaters. Surprising. My sister & I had a theory that most females are durian lovers & most males are not. Of course, no science or mathematical evidence for this.
Moving on, we also had these sugar puff things.
Hot, fluffy & coated with sugar. It is the malasada’s lighter cousin.
A little bit of tender greens too. This new/old spot on Balboa in the Outer Richmond used to be my family’s go-to dim sum spot. I don’t know the name since it has changed hands & it now does spicy food as well as dim sum.
I’ve been feeling a tad restless lately. Seems like everyone is constantly evaluating my career choices, either politely or not so politely.
When you work, people go, oh of course. Very matter-of-factly & expectantly. When you don’t, they ask when you’ll go back. All in due time, friends.
I think other things are eating at me too. Concerns about family & friends. Various situations requiring tact & care.
What is life but a ride. Sometimes it’s fun & sometimes it’s a bumpy road ahead.
Here’s to looking up when you just want to look down.
