I am continually impressed by the people around me. My dear friends, in what I thought was a causal outing, turned out to be an early birthday celebration for me!
We ate to our heart’s content at Limon in the Mission. The mixed ceviche was delicious & ordered four times for our party of eight girls. Excuse me, women.
The truffle mac & cheese and the queso empanadas were divine. I adore cheese.
We had a whole chicken, yuca fries, sweet potato fries, veggie empanadas, short rib, variations on fried chicken, beef tongue & beyond.
Such a delight to share with hungry girls who love their food. The dim lighting & my refusal to use flash boasts dark pictures that don’t do the food justice. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here. Too long.
The benefit of a large group is the tapas style eating & the variety we can try.
The girls liked the specialty drink: a whiskey passion with just that & lime. The servers graciously met our requests in a crowded but comfortable atmosphere.
The chocolate mousse cake was the best part! And to think I almost ordered dessert! These sly girls.
I’m not usually big on my own birthday but it’s so lovely to have friends that are so thoughtful & loving.
After a night of dancing to 90’s jams, we got down with dirty dogs (bacon wrapped hot dogs with grilled onions, mayo & more). We were even approached by a guac angel who bestowed upon us her chips & guac. We enjoyed some & passed it on with some equally enthusiastic recipients.
What stunning company to be among. Not everyone is here of course because with important women, it’s hard to get everyone together.
The next morning we had Art’s Cafe breakfast for three.
Char’s hash brown sausage sandwich looked scrumplicious. My bibimbap omelette was melty with cheese & the delicately crisp hash browns.
Jeany’s omelette with bacon was scarved down so fast.
Eggsy was so good at home with dad last night & this morning. I am surrounded by queens & gems. I couldn’t dream it better.
Thank you friends & family. May you know how well loved you are.
