Nostalgia

Hey look, it’s Joe!

Welcome Joe for your short trip in San Francisco! So glad you’ve got a CLE so we can reconnect.

SF tried to put its best weather for our visitor. A late sundown, pink skies & a warm night laid the groundwork for a pleasant stop at Marnee Thai.

Joe looks chipper waiting for our food to come out. Amazing it’s been 5 years since law school. Now life is different & it’s better.

The summer rolls are Joe’s favorite so he had to try them here. Freshly wrapped, perfect for a summer night.

Poor baby was still feverin’ so he had to stay back with dad. I snuck in post-dinner, pre-walk & found father & son fast asleep.

I had the most massive coconut. Reminds me of more tropic days. The fish tofu on skewers was quite good. Chewy & sweet. The soft shell crab salad with green mango was good & quite spicy.

The stir fried coconut rice noodles were better the last time I had it for take-out. I’m not sure if they forgot the egg & stuck it on top. Curious. Tasty but not a gem.

The seabass is a bad bass. Bad meaning good, not bad meaning bad. We chose the spicy curry with mushrooms sauce. We gobbled it all up.

We also went to i-tea to get our boba on. Joe had mango & I had a light tea krema. Thank god it didn’t keep me up because caring for a sick baby is tiring.

How wonderful that no matter how much time passes, friends are people you can count on & reconnect with. Safe journey back to Korea, Joe! I know we’ll be seeing each other again soon. We’ll have even more stories the next time we meet!
