So proud of my girl Annie for starting law school on Monday! This girl is so amazing, I’m not sure she knows what she’s capable of yet.
This is the best combination: being on the brink of greatness builds humility while ambition stretched you.
And… This pho is like the Venus de milo gummy that Homer peeled off the babysitter’s butt. Simpsons fans, you know what I’m talking about.
A few things I learned about grad school:
- Make sure you want it. It will inevitably suck. Make it worth it.
- Hard work can make up for almost anything. If you want it badly enough (see #1), you’ll find a way.
- Balance yourself. A hobby. Something. You deserve to be well cared for.
- You teach people how to treat you. Don’t let people walk on you & they can’t.
- Bar study sucks but do it once & let it be a nightmare you forget about.
I’m so proud of you. Annie & Smity, you’ll both rock this next chapter of your lives. Enjoy the ride. Above all, take care of yourself. You’re surrounded by people who love you but it’s not enough if it doesn’t start with número uno.
