The big deal

Is it true?

Yes! It is! Eggsy is hereby 10 months old!

How he has been growing on his first big trip away from home. He handled the flight wonderfully without a cry to be heard. He’s been growing like a little sprout too!

We do a lot of exploring to find baby-friendly places where he can unleash his curiosities. Our favorites include: the fabulous Seattle library with a ginormous children’s area, the Seattle Art Museum & Occidential Park where there is a small outdoor play structure, perfect for curious babies.

Eggsy has become keen on yelling & screaming nonsensical baby commands. He practiced such yelling while visiting museums. Luckily, people know babies engage in all kinds of social norm breaking behavior so we get nods of patience & kind understanding.

Seattlites are very pleasant & nice people. Warm aloha, though it is brisk out.

Our breakfast this morning at the Crumpet Shop had delightfully fresh crumpets with lemon curd & ricotta & salmon cream cheese & cucumbers. Earl Grey for Smee; steamed soy milk for me. A plain, untoasted crumpet for the little one.

The Wing Luke museum also has a children’s area where baby continued his adventures with books & the allure of a ball pit.

We’re discovering eatery gems like Kaname in Japantown.

The bento doesn’t lie. Loving the variety & freshness. Everything here is exciting discovery.

The beef is tender with a ginger sauce that easily gets baby to gobble up lots. The hospitality at many places is a dream. There is an air of caring here.

We’ve had a few misfires though. Nothing too bad or dramatic but not every meal has been good. Dim sum is surprisingly hard to come by. Vancouver has it, so I hear.

HardWok cafe has little wonders like this translucent dumpling with pork. Like all things, there are some delectable gems here in Washington we’re already discovering. So much more we don’t even know about, I’m sure.

It doesn’t really matter if we see it all, as long as we get to spend time with the reason why we’re here: our Smee. She’s got quite the pot to fill! It’s remarkable how she’s adjusted & acclimated so well to her new Seahawk territory. She’s not only a 10, she’s a 12!
