Here we are at the gum wall where I stood too close & almost got stuck!
I feel like Supermom. I flew with the tot solo, while wheeling our carry-on luggage & one personal item. I brought the full supply of diapers for our 2 week trip in my luggage. That took up 25% of the space. I did so because we benefited from a Target sale & I refuse to buy even more diapers when we have maybe 5 more boxes in the garage. But I digress.
The flight was relatively bearable despite Eggsy being an active little bugger. He flipped, crawled & investigated screws, buttons & seat belts. Our 2 hour flight was non-stop (action).
First of all, I secured my rolling luggage to the stroller. One mighty push to rule them all.
Purse goes below. Child secured. Belongings follow along! My brica bag clip secured my luggage to the stroller bar. I tried this out on the way here when grandma was with us (& helped plenty).
When I got to the airport gate, I asked to be re-seated in an empty row for maximum comfort & ease to care for baby. The nice lady at Virgin airlines hooked it up. 22A through C was all ours to disperse Cheerios all over.
I also recruited the help of others in putting my luggage away. A young lady helped to keep an eye on curious Eggsy as I stuffed our luggage in the overhead compartment.
The stewardess held baby for a few moments as I went to the potty. Finally, another dad with a similarly named baby helped me retrieve my luggage from the overhead & another nice girl offered to wheel it out since I had baby & oversized purse. I stuck my luggage at the earliest opening to lessen the time I had to juggle baby, purse & luggage.
This is really a story of how helpful strangers are. Thanks to them, a new mum (me) can do some light travel without much strife.
I attempted nursing for takeoff & landing but baby was too excited. Banana & Cheerios it is, kid.
Perhaps this is a metaphor for life. Even when you feel alone, there are those that help you along the way. Not that I’m alone; I’ve got this little guy.
