Eggsy is 11 months today! It is flying.
As they say, the days are long but the year(s) are short.
It certainly feels like a short first year. We’ve had crazy days, some calm moments, a lot of joy & glimpses of frustration.
Thank goodness for grandmas. They are magical. Grandpas too. Baby’s grandmothers are especially wonderful, nurturing & saviors. I don’t have a robust enough vocabulary to accurately describe our gratitude for our mothers.
It’s good that we don’t get everything that we want. That’s not the way life works. If you’re lucky, you might learn to be appreciative all of the things that go right when it seems there’s always something that had to go astray.
Happy 11 months, sweet Eggsy. You are loved beyond measure.
In loving you, self care is essential. In rebuilding health (individually & collectively, as a family), I am focusing on sleep, purpose, activity & nutrition.
- Sleep better. Minimize phone, computer, screen time an hour before shut eye. Allow for baby wind down time. Lights out facilitates sleep for baby (adults too!).
- Purposeful living. Focus on the important stuff: keep baby alive & well. Seek support. Allow rest. Gentleness with self. You’re doing the best you can.
- Activity as allowed. Allocate space for activity as energy permits. Time is sacred now. Spend time with those that you can help, that also lift you up. Talk walks. Reenergize by building back strength.
- Enjoy your food. Choose foods that nourish. Be mindful.
Let’s live long lives. My little one has a bright future & I want to be around to see it.
