Nostalgia

Old time feel

Last night I discovered for the first time what others have known for some time.

Bill’s Place on Clement in a diamond in the rough. Boasting the decor of days gone by, this place has chandeliers & good burgers.

We sit next to a Robin Williams signed poster that says, “[t]he best place to eat meat!” Oh I miss you Genie & you’re right about the meat.

My medium rare third pound patty melt is sublime. On grilled rye, I regrettably could not share this with baby. HB lovingly offered his Giants burger with avo & bacon to Eggsy.

The fries are piled high here. I opt for the cole slaw which was delicious.

TB gets the Bill’s Place #1 but I try not to be rude to take pictures of his food when surely he would prefer to be eating.

We test our will & forgo milk shakes so we can have dessert. Creations, our unanimous pick.

They now have durian mochi! A nice blob of durian here. I also have fresh coconut & papaya slush…with more mochi.

For lunch, we go to our favorite sandwich place: Little Lucca. These are sinful sandwiches which I am shameful to eat in public. The Little Lucca combo has salami & two other meats on their delightful dutch crunch. I’m getting hungry now.

Revelation. Turns out, I’m living into my dreams. Instead of grandiose ideals of what life should be, I’m choosing to want what I have (which is a lot). Remember, someone is happier with less than what you have.

Feels pretty good to have an organic, true kind of happiness. Sure, it wands & wanes but it’s a start.

Sending positive energy to my family, friends & into the world in hopes others will enjoy good health, laughter, & of course, ono grinds.
