New Beginnings

Resolute

I’m not usually big on new year resolutions. Aim low, keep expectations down & you end up happier.

A little bit of a defeatist attitude.

This time, I’m aiming high. I got a little kid to impress.

I’m pretty fixated on doing better so my kid can see me be awesome.

Here are some thoughts on 2016 improvements:

  • Be more active. My body is feeling a little beat. I can be a 5-6 times a week gym goer or I can be a no-workout bum. Lately the bumming has me beat. Get movin’! I want to live a long time to see my great grandkids!
  • Contribute. Volunteer in some capacity. I have some ideas on where. Kids are a nice focal point. Perhaps it can give me some insight when I’m ready to return to work. When you’re feeling drained, give more. Don’t think that adds up but somehow it works. (I’m not currently drained but still.)
  • Work on artistic pursuits. Calligraphy is my latest jam. Work on that. Draw. Make art. Do fun stuff.
  • Bake… Cook or something. I’m slowly exploring the other side of eating: being the creator & not just the consumer. So far, so good. Still got my training wheels on but I’m ok with that.
  • Care for family. Continue being awesome.
  • Care for health. Do it like you mean it.

Well that is already an ambitious list. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Cheers to the brand new you in 2016! You’re looking great, kid.
