New Beginnings

MMXVI

A big new year. I cut my hair to start the new year with a bang. It’s mighty short. With baby pulling on my hair, it’s perfect.

We had a chill night, visiting with Romy & her grand family’s feast. There’s a lot of love in that house & we are so lucky to have friends of this caliber.

Some friends always remember you, some intentionally forget you. Listen when people show you who they are. So blessed for the lovely friendships that continue to amaze & lift me up. I hope to do the same for you.

We had a New Year’s Day brunch in Burlingame. We attempted a new spot, was closed & ended up waiting an hour+ for Stacks.

I didn’t regret the cold wait because the SF scramble was the perfect meal to the start of the year. Ground beef, spinach, mushrooms & cheese is perfection. Baby got to nibble Madi’s French toast & our company, yet again, was sublime.

A walk around IKEA yielded a car stuffing contest. A desk, 3 chairs, a mat, recycling bin & more later, we discover the wonder that is the Mexican grocery next door in East Palo Alto.

A tray of carnitas with all the accompaniments later, we have a house full of happy bellies. Thanks Jeany & Matt for always a good time.

Yesterday I bravely had the hardest massage in my life. I’ve had Thai massages when they are basically rubbing the first layer of your skin off. Massages in China where they are trying to break, I mean crack, places you didn’t know could be cracked.

The massusue tenderized me. I thought, he is trying to kill me; he’s killing me. But you know what? I slept great. All’s well that end’s well, right?

Mamas gotta take care of themselves. Weeding out toxic people, nourishing our bodies, taking care of the family & friends that are our rose garden, these are the guidelines for not only a blank slate 2016, but for life.

Thanks for those that are true (there are many) & also, thanks for the lesser true for the lessons learned are valuable too.

Happy MMXVI!

May we live into our dreams.

Can’t reach the wheels but enjoying the ride!
