Baby bao

Kid has been keeping us busy lately. Growth spurt? Teething? Who knows.

Leaky egg yolk bao is one of the best dim sum options ever. Who doesn’t like hot, runny, sweet yolk?

Baby is a bao baby. He likes bread. Carbs are good.

Lately he’s been into salmon. Last night we offered him creamed corn, brussel sprouts, salmon & portobello ravioli. He likes the creamy stuff & the salmon. We generously shared the insides of our pasta as that is what he would eat.

A mild pickiness may be emerging. Or he could simply be exploring & preferring different tastes.

How we label & describe an experience sometimes can change what something is.

When we remember something, we remember how we felt about that time. Sometimes the emotion is more prevalent than the actual memory.

Trying to have a positive outlook & to remember trying situations as learning opportunities. Look! Baby gets little boots for the snow soon.
Breakfast is the most important meal (to throw in pieces on the floor).

Baby pancakes with mango that mostly ended on the floor.

Parenting is 40% trying to prevent the kid from electrocution, 60% setting up & cleaning up the kid from meals. Nonstop fun.

Did you know one year olds with minimal teeth go to preventative dental appointments?
Yeah, me either until recently. See smiley face sticker as proof of such a visit. (Like a junvenile “I Voted” sticker. Very official.) Polishing & fluoride rinse later, we’re at the De Young museum. Baby slept most the time & I was eager to leave for lunch. Highly cultured experience.

Eggsy’s personality is definitely starting to peek through. He is a playful, sweet kid who seems to be quite opinionated. His pointer finger is all-telling. Luckily as a small one, he gets a pass on social norms & points at people only when he’s awake.

Enjoy your naan, little darling. If you’re lucky, it’s a lifelong love affair with exotic spices & flavors. I’ll be eating right along side you.
