A pleasing accomplishment today. A happy face crepe from Japantown is absolutely kawaii.
After dinner, I gleefully watched my crepe being made. The tough looking fellow carefully placed corn flakes for ears & marshmallows dotted with chocolate for eyes. Why, I believe these are the things I live for.
Green tea ice cream happys. Whip cream & shredded coconuts for the happys’ innards.
Eggsy hardly cared to eat it which is fine; more for mama. He ate quite a bit at Tenroku Sushi. This conveyor belt sushi joint has been inticing me since its opening. Today was the big day for us.
Salmon seared topped with blue fin tuna. Will be returning. Great service & surprisingly baby friendly for a tiny place. We got avo as a side dish & sushi rice to help baby get his fill.
Earlier in the day we had another Japanese meal (I know, twice in one day, what are the odds).
Chicken hearts to try out the yakitori at Sqwers. Not bad. Their bentos are pretty tight. Maybe the best in the city.
The little babe chows down on salmon & rice. He’s a little eating machine. Come a long way, he has.
This was a year ago. Still we have not succumbed to the Dark Side. I hear they have cookies. In quiet moments, I realize I’ve lived into the kind of subtle happiness that I’ve longed for for so long. It’s not perfect by far, but life has a lot of good it in. Let it in.
Eggsy is increasingly active & many handfuls. I see where the village comes in. (As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.”)
Thank you to our wonderful village. The thoughtfulness from family & friends is appreciated tenfold.
Let’s see what other adventures are in store for us. One thing’s for sure, it won’t be boring.
