Noms

Hunger pains & poke

Kid is extended napping now. It is 9 p.m. We haven’t had dinner. Please don’t call CPS.

He had been snacking with grandma all day. Nursing currently. I’ve weakly attempted to wake him for dinner. A few more minutes…

I’ve been having a lot of poke lately. Finally Poki Time is open!

It doesn’t disappoint. No scallops though. The fish is fresh, origins are revealed & the Bubbies is a dream come true.

Baby of course gobbles up his first ice cream mochi. I snatch it away before it becomes a mess (& so I can have some). Limited flavors (4 when I visited) but better than nothing. We’ll take em all!

Today I had Poke Bowl to compare against the newest addition in the poke world (for us San Franciscans).

Too much spicy mayo today. Their brown rice is okay. Their fish isn’t nearly as fresh. Still a good option in DC though. I won’t favor you PB but I’ll still visit. (Of course mine has everything you can possibly put in it.)

Poki Time prides itself on its fresh ingredients & it shows. The brown rice is mixed grains which I like. Their sauces are made fresh in house. They also have spam which is just lovely. I’m going back tomorrow for a mommy & baby date.
There was a brief moment where I was overwhelmed by the task to properly take care of my baby. Like having a very late dinner. I don’t want us to miss a meal (we won’t) & I don’t want his sleep cycle to be all screwed up.

Yet I have to listen to his cues that tell me we’ll eat after a few more minutes of sound slumber & sleep will hopefully be okay tonight.

Fingers crossed for a good night tonight for us all!
