A touch late but baby is 16 months now. Incredible.
He is active as ever. Not quite responsive to instruction yet. He gleefully explores & plays. His energy is contagious.
This time is fun yet exhausting. This phase is challenging. We are worn out.
Then he smiles at us & we melt.
Sundaes are really for the grown ups. He dove in & got a face full of whipped cream. Like MF said: every food has its place.
At CPK, we have the wild mushroom on wheat. Yum. Fungus is fundamental.
A lot of things have been reminding me of LA days. CPK. Ice cream sandwiches. Being schooled.
Turns out I knew nothing then. What a revelation! So young, so naive. Suddenly my music is “oldies”… Huh.
My Sensei taught us to breathe when we could. In a fight, it feels like a constant stream. When to rest? You cannot. That’s not true though. You can always breathe. Make space for what you need. You deserve that.
Now in hindsight, motherhood could not be better timed. A comedian joked that he wanted to have children while his parents were still young. So funny, so true. I am so tired now; thank God for our parents.
Every milestone we celebrate is not complete without appreciation for our parents, our families & friends that help us in miraculous & big ways.
The world expands to meet you. Your needs, if articulated, may be met with more vigor than you could imagine. There must be a higher presence for this kind of wonderment is divine.
I ran into some old friends of the church I went to when I was younger. Serendipitous, perhaps.
My brother reminds me the biblical story of splitting the baby.
All of this, I gather, is a reminder to be kinder & more courageous. I have been working inwardly. Now I am looking to expand outwardly.
A mentor guides me in his encouragement. I too am an encourager perhaps because the sense the need in others as I do myself.
