Gratitude

Epic

Concerns over exposing my child in his formative years urged me to take a hiatus. As a compromise, I’ll only write of him & post pictures of him less (sorry to his fans).

Feeling empowered over this current administration. Worried about permanent residents and their granting of reentry upon leaving the U.S. Instead of fear, we will unite and grow stronger. Our children deserve that.

The holidays have come and gone. Now it’s Lunar New Year! Many family traditions to enjoy. Last night’s dinner with family gently reminds me of how no matter the struggles politically and beyond, there is sanctuary at home. Hopefully we can preserve this always.

Eggsy is growing quite a bit! Overnights away are a success now (thank you Popo!). Weaning & potty training are still imminent on the list of things to tackle.

At home, we’re enjoying homemade sushi & pho.

It’s like the Starbucks sizing of pho bowls. The just past stormy weather had us in soup mood.

Lovingly crafted first attempts at philly rolls. Food is love, isn’t it? The love & care to create & share. How grateful I am for all of those that do this seeming effortlessly.

There is quiet & noisy resistance. May we employ both appropriately to make our voices heard.

In these trying times, I fortify my stance to protect those I hold especially dear. I won’t let harm come to their way. We’re afforded an opportunity to defend our rights and we will. I will teach my child, nieces and nephews to be outspoken advocates too.

A sign I saw:

Take away my birth control, and I’ll just make more Democrats.

Hoping we all have humor and grace to overcome all challenges before us. So much to be grateful for, even when there is struggle.

A morning with an old family friend helped to recenter me. Life is really tough, she pondered. The kindness that she spreads is a quiet reflection of her strength through her eighty plus years.

Shout it out, little one. The world wants to hear what you have to say. May you grow stronger, bigger & ever concerned with the social justices of our community & our world. I’m so proud to be your mum.
