The big cheese

Here is a cheese worth writing home for: Saint Andre French triple cream cheese is to die for.

Eggsy and I stand in the kitchen eating chunks at a time. It’s melty, rich & delicious all by itself.

Three cheers for my newfound favorite.

In other news, parenting proves to be continually challenging. In my parenting class, I rate my child’s behavior the previous week & gave him a stunning 9 out of 10. Unheard of. Immediately after, Eggsy had difficulty regulating his emotions (expected).

It’s just that isn’t it? You think you got it figured out (you don’t) & then it’s a harsh reminder to stay lighthearted when just the day to day pushes your limits.

Perhaps that is what makes things so fulfilling. That it is hard work & the rewards of parenting are so worth it.

So many new babes to welcome into the world. Some arrived & some imminent. Grateful for our people; our village.

Somehow the timing of things has it right. Never a perfect time to have a child. There’s this deadline, this pressing job, unsituated financially, emotionally, what have you.

In a meditation class, we were guided to focus only on the task at hand. When we’re washing dishes, just do that. It is your life right now. I wash a lot of dishes it feels like. And these are ways I take care of my family. Sometimes mundane tasks to keep us safe, healthy & hopefully happy too.

As metaphors for life go, we must make the best of it. We do our best. And hopefully let go of attachment to what we think the outcome should be.

Sometimes it surprises us and is far better than we expected.

Like this here cheese.
