Hunger pains & poke

Kid is extended napping now. It is 9 p.m. We haven’t had dinner. Please don’t call CPS.  He had been snacking with grandma all day. Nursing currently. I’ve weakly attempted to wake him for dinner. A few more minutes… I’ve been having a lot of poke lately. Finally Poki Time is open!  It doesn’t disappoint. No scallops though. The fish is fresh, origins are revealed & the Bubbies is a dream come true.    Baby…

Dog eat dog

Raining cats & dogs over here. Okay, it did for a few moments. I’m feeling really technologically inclined with use of apps for grocery  shopping. Curbside helps me to order food & such with it packed & put into my car. Pretty awesome.  Big thanks to my mom & brother for watching baby. We are ever blessed by our family. My mom is my rock.  Baby took a little bike ride, braving the rain. Celebrating…

Crazy is, crazy does

What an adventure today! A mishap with a car key, pho (I had rice) with my fave, & the green eye monster appears.  I’m finding myself short tempered at times & easily frustrated. Perhaps it is the mommy gold standard: a desire to be a near perfect mother, all of the time. That doesn’t exist so I excuse myself gently & will try again with hopeful grace tomorrow.    My pork chop & pork skin rice…

Second wind

Baby is snoring next to me as we wait for Popo to get her lab work done. We just left baby’s hospital for his labs. A lot of medical stuff when everyone is healthy.  Eggsy has become more of a little rascal. Meals are messier & a little temper is peeking through. Aka childhood.  He is 15 months today! A small cry for bloodwork done. I congratulate his brave efforts.    We had a wonderful…

Egg puffies

Baby loves egg puffs as much as mom does. A good mid-mall snack, baby can take whole bites of an egg puff himself, as he did yesterday.   He likes papaya & milk snow too. Basically a milkshake. No sugar, no tapioca. Health food?  At home we have organic oatmeal with whole milk, banana & egg. I’m glad baby gobbled this up. I think the sweetness from the fruit helps.    Baby’s version is extra milky.…

Kawaii desu

A pleasing accomplishment today. A happy face crepe from Japantown is absolutely kawaii.  After dinner, I gleefully watched my crepe being made. The tough looking fellow carefully placed corn flakes for ears & marshmallows dotted with chocolate for eyes. Why, I believe these are the things I live for.    Green tea ice cream happys. Whip cream & shredded coconuts for the happys’ innards.  Eggsy hardly cared to eat it which is fine; more for…

The big deal

Father daughter dance

Tonight I joined my dad in watching Spectre, a 007 feature.  Turns out I forgot how much I love James Bond. And my dad.  It was a treat to see my papa, surrounded by familiar faces, friends & a deep sense of community. It is the center in which they gather.  The movie is gripping & exciting from beginning to end. I speed a little on the drive home.  The best part is the ending.…

Head space

I can’t sleep. I need to do a mental dump to clear my head. Sorry in advance.  I saw a picture online of a starving 2 year old child in Nigeria who was left to die by his parents because he was a “witch”. I don’t know why I’m online at 3 a.m. but I am & I am disturbed.  This child looks like my baby. His large head & cute toddler exterior. Famished. Apparently…

Crafty valentine

My baby has been lovin’ on me today. It’s Valentine’s Day, after all.  Well, mostly he was trying to get the food he wanted (understandable). His attempts at snacks were punctuated with little kisses. MELT!  We took the little prince to have his one year old photo taken. Might as well throw in a heart & make it a seasonal photo. Incredibly resourceful.  I made his one year old photo about love & pride.  …
