The way I feel about you

It’s really a reflection of how I feel about me. Not to be egotistical but it’s true.  Been pensive about some relationships and the boundaries in them. I’m trying to be in a place to treat others, especially loved ones, in a way that is respectful, loving, compassionate, yet mindful of healthy boundaries that is caring of me too. This takes work.  Compassion towards others is easier & care for self is harder. It’s easy…

The business of being small

Minced pork with salty egg fit for those with limited teeth.  There is a restaurant called Lychee Cafe that my family used to like to go to. Chinese food. Homely. They’ve moved into a bigger space & have lost some of their following.  I like them still. One night I picked up take out & chatted with the owner, a nice, older woman who is small but is the kind of person who gets things…

Pass it on

Struggling a little bit lately. I’ve heard of terrible twos but it should really be called terrible ones! Baby is excitedly running about now. In his wake, is everything he can get his little hands on. A few hours is fun; 24/7 is daunting.  Yesterday morning he pooped, peed on the floor then pooped again. That’s a solid morning.  Grateful for my mom who gives me a break. Thankful for supportive family & friends. My…

Dog eat dog

Raining cats & dogs over here. Okay, it did for a few moments. I’m feeling really technologically inclined with use of apps for grocery  shopping. Curbside helps me to order food & such with it packed & put into my car. Pretty awesome.  Big thanks to my mom & brother for watching baby. We are ever blessed by our family. My mom is my rock.  Baby took a little bike ride, braving the rain. Celebrating…

Second wind

Baby is snoring next to me as we wait for Popo to get her lab work done. We just left baby’s hospital for his labs. A lot of medical stuff when everyone is healthy.  Eggsy has become more of a little rascal. Meals are messier & a little temper is peeking through. Aka childhood.  He is 15 months today! A small cry for bloodwork done. I congratulate his brave efforts.    We had a wonderful…

Nai Nai please

Baby has surpassed the need for signing for milk; he can articulate his need.  Suddenly understandably vocal, baby intently asks for what he wants. Attention with Chewbacca noises & plenty of babbling. Pretty sweet.  He is also immensely more interested in playtime. No longer a watcher, he is a doer. He wrangles with the big kids at the playground.   Intentional footed PJs for playtime to eliminate the need to look for lost socks. Or…

Thank Mom

Thank you Mom for being my guide & protector.  I realize now that to be a mother, you protect even when the child may have no memory of it. We are born & hopefully cared for, loved & protected. We yet have our wings.  This is a study in patience: care until adulthood & beyond with hope that investment will yield a thoughtful, contentious, contributing person.  I want you to know, Mom, you did a…

Friendship croc

Sometimes you go on really cool adventures & think, hey, I’ve got the best friends.  That’s what happened today. We explored stow lake & took in the exhibits at the Academy of Sciences. We’re so grateful to spend time with Uncle Cordy. The baby’s uncle, not mine.  Baby was up for most of the exploration. We even survived a fire alarm mid-lunch. The Terrance at the Academy is quite yummy (especially that vegan pumpkin soup). …

Heartfelt

A grateful heart for all that is & all that is to come. Living into the notion of truly wanting what you have.  I share my peace, love & energy openly & warmly. Those that are given the strength & grace must share their gift.  A quote I saw (paraphrased):  Pleasure is best enjoyed with others.  How true. A meal spent with loved ones. A walk. Life’s wonderous & rocky waves. How well spent life…

Dream station

Saw a quote this morning: The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.  Of course it would have to be Oprah who said it.  Sometimes the life of your dreams isn’t something you conjure up first. Sometimes you’re living it & in the quiet moments, you realize that hey, this is the life I’ve been dreaming about.  I snuck away while baby was still sleeping this morning & peeked…
