Four

Our little family of three will soon be four, come the new year! February to be exact. We’re overjoyed.  Lots has happened lately. Eggsy is now more energetic than ever. I am very tired. Luckily, he’ll be starting school soon(!) so hopefully his energy will be well used.  Eggsy is also finally weaned! A big deal. Some anxiousness over how the process would go but after some initial push back, all went smoothly.    Here…

MMXVI

A big new year. I cut my hair to start the new year with a bang. It’s mighty short. With baby pulling on my hair, it’s perfect.  We had a chill night, visiting with Romy & her grand family’s feast. There’s a lot of love in that house & we are so lucky to have friends of this caliber.     Some friends always remember you, some intentionally forget you. Listen when people show you who…

Resolute

I’m not usually big on new year resolutions. Aim low, keep expectations down & you end up happier.  A little bit of a defeatist attitude.  This time, I’m aiming high. I got a little kid to impress.  I’m pretty fixated on doing better so my kid can see me be awesome.  Here are some thoughts on 2016 improvements: Be more active. My body is feeling a little beat. I can be a 5-6 times a…

Do it for love

Congrats to our beautiful friends Ly & Ricky for tying the knot! Their reception at Palmsdale Estates was gorgeous & encapsulated their love stunningly.  Table 22 turnt up. I think I used that phrase right (we were loud).  The food was off the hook. Do people still say that? Yeah, we like beef.    Buffets where everyone isn’t shy to let loose (their pants). The fish (left) was soft so baby got to enjoy it…

Brother come home

Mikey is back & this time it’s with a vengeance! In a good way.  Baby is thrilled to have his fufu around. Eyeing him suspiciously, he could not resist the warmth of uncle’s cuddle as he succumbed to slumber…with one eye open.  We had at it at Tai Wu for dim sum. The buns are so cute.   Mini char siu baos, perfect for little hands. Except baby only eats the bun, no honey glazed…

Epic adventure

A happy dim sum brunch with family today. Baby was a little gem, as always. First a walk around Cliffhouse, to let baby soak in some rays. Through the shield and comfort of his stroller, of course. Here he is, a happy little clam.  Of the dim sum highlights are the beef organs which we all cheered for in unison. The tripe was a tad overdone, but nothing to gripe about. I…

Chinese finger trap

That is the grip of my baby. Equivalent to a Chinese finger trap; constricts upon your resistance.  A visit to Smile cafe on Taraval put a smile on our face. Their Korean seafood pancake is most definitely deep fried. A nice changed to its usual pan fried preparation. The oxtail in wine sauce is good here. We get it often. Baby likes their original yogurt drink. Quite hungry today, we…

Poke & baby gear

Tis the time to visit the land of baby products galore.  To aquire yet more baby stuff, we get baby a toy that hangs overhead, least he get bored in his car seat.  I read that mirrors are good for baby’s development so bam! Two mirrors today. One in his toy & one so the driver can see baby in the rear view mirror. Sunshades for the car. The first choice, a Safety…

Eggs, eggs, eggs

HB’s sourdough egg sandwich with mayo, arugula, Munster cheese wowed me & baby.  Well, me, anyways.  On a lazy Saturday morning, we’re gearing up to take baby on a tour of Stanford so he can have an idea of what college is going to look like.  Just kidding… Kind of.  Good thing Aunt Jeany wants to have dinner out there so we can start planting the seed of higher education… Long before baby can even speak…

Justice is served

And it’s delicious! Savoring a sweet victory today… Years in the making. A deeply personal legal issue resolved favorably. How incredibly satisfying. To celebrate, we get tons of take-out from a favorite Korean bento spot. Pacific Plaza cafe is a favorite go-to for those working in Lower Pacific Heights. For us, it’s a special victory meal that requires us to navigate the parking demands of the neighborhood. Pretty sure they were actually closed, but the…
