I’m losing my mind

I have lost a very important document for my aunt & I am losing it.  Could it be that my mommy brain has robbed me of any capacity to remember… Anything? One thing I didn’t forget is how to eat good food. Tonight’s candidates were the new pizza & burger places at Stonestown but alas we craved for Shabu.  But Shabu we did not! A new Korean spot at Lakeside caught our attention. With a similar…

Foodie friends

A special dinner with our Rhon Rhon & A-dawg. Of course I don’t call him that to his face, because he doesn’t like it.  Karilagan in South City to fulfill our craving for sizzling sisig.  Our fave here is the oxtail ragu. I unfairly ate more than anyone else (sorry).   Our veggies was the least touched item maybe because we are all carnivorous.   The whole bangus was a touch dry but still tasty with…

Surf & turf

First comes the turf. Tasty. I learned that steak increases milk production so here we are.  The surf comes from our local haunt, Yum Yum Fish. I wish they had a frequent buyer’s card like boba tea because I would have earned a free platter of sashimi by now.    Salmon nigiri has been our thing lately. White tuna was meh. It’s the super white we like. Call it the-butterfish-belongs-in-my-stomach-fish.  Unagi & kappa roll is a…

Lunch train

Thai lunch in a bento at Chaabaa. The other thai place that isn’t Marnee. Usually I go the M route but today, oh, today we try somewhere new.  Chaabaa has lunch specials that pack a lot in a box. I was ravenous (what’s new) & I got full fast. Baby feeding intermission, as per usual.    Here’s the little man hanging with Uncle Calm.  A small walk around & baby was ready to cruise inside (aka…

Rocky Road

Ice cream is what I want. But that’s neither here nor there. I did have beef organs though. Tripe-y.  An epic weekend filled with family fun. Guess that’s what having a family is like, lots of family fun.  Dim sum with the sibs with a three child to four adult ratio. Luckily, careful sitting arrangement made for a peaceful meal. We even had hot soup, Westlake beef, without incident.    An impromptu trip to the…

Reward for valor

In recognition of my remarkable bravery and valor at the dentist, my reward is… Sushi.    After trying to scope out the cherry blossom festival in Japantown but finding no parking, we were at a loss. And hungry. And temporarily paralyzed on one side of our faces.  Alas, Yum Yum Fish is our sweet savior. Providing delicious sushi since the 1990s. Cool. Little sister was born then.  A lovely visit from friends kept baby jumpin’ jumpin’.…

My little chicken wing

Just a walk in the park for us. A beautiful aloha Friday. Little guy slept through most of it, naturally.  A somewhat random run in with mom & Guang Guang. As with all family gatherings, we must stop to snack. Lychee cafe is like family to us. Chicken wings & beef tripe for me.   Guang had jook & peanut butter French toast. That man knows how to live! Plus, I get to eat some…

Dream feeder

Poor baby’s teething woes continue. It’s not all too bad; our sleep is affected however. It’s all good.  Baby usually likes to nurse to sleep but lately he’s be all, “Uh huh, moms, we ain’t eating tonight!” Fine. I’ll snack alone.  After some fried chicken last night, we had a salad! Good on us. Mozzarella! Yay.     Tonight we had homemade dumplings, green & lotsa duck! I nearly ate a whole bird myself, I swear.…

Bubble baby

Back at Bubble for a sweet fix. We get try their cold desserts this time & found it better than the hot grass jelly.  The cute little mason jar of expresso pudding topped with red beans was quite a treat.   The little red top is charming. Really I was digging for the good stuff, the milky coffee pudding on the bottom. The stuff on the top was just in the way.  At home we…

Eating in bed

Got our new bed today! New bed smell at our place.  A little Spiral sushi & japanese eats for early dinner. Bento boxes for hungry mommies.    We love happy hour. Sometimes, we even drink! A lion king roll fit for a baby prince. I like it because it’s baked & it has cream cheese. Win!    Later, an impromptu dessert, drinks & snacks run with my favorites. Oh, you know, just ordering all the…
