A tasty late lunch with Calmsy at Dae Jang Geum Tofu House in Daly City. Bibimbap for me; dumpling tofu soup for Calm. Love the little side dishes, especially the japchae (sweet potato noodles). What we didn’t know is that this filling meal would land us at McDonalds in a couple of hours. They don’t have chicken Mcnuggets & apple pies at tofu places, you know.

Justice is served

And it’s delicious! Savoring a sweet victory today… Years in the making. A deeply personal legal issue resolved favorably. How incredibly satisfying. To celebrate, we get tons of take-out from a favorite Korean bento spot. Pacific Plaza cafe is a favorite go-to for those working in Lower Pacific Heights. Valentine Delight

Love Mak and then mattress shopping

I mean Joo Mak, a Korean & Japanese fusion spot in Central Richmond district in San Francisco for this warm Valentine’s dinner. We ordered to our heart’s content: takoyaki, toro & bluefin tuna, seafood pancake, the Joo Mak roll (topped with quail egg), kalbi & chicken liver skewers. Our food intermission was a stop at a Sleeptrain to scope out mattresses. So romantic! Now the hunt begins for dessert. Must hurry because the baby clock…

Cafe Duck Butt

Photo credit: Omnivore’s Cookbook I miss that place. Cafe Duck Butt, in Honolulu, Hawaii is one of my favorite places. A hole in the wallish establishment, it boasts Korean bar food in a very hyper driven environment. Kpop videos and music blast while delectable dishes like seafood or kimchee pancakes can be savored. One day I’ll take my son there so he can watch mommy enjoy some watermelon soju & some fried chicken.
