Surf & turf

First comes the turf. Tasty. I learned that steak increases milk production so here we are.  The surf comes from our local haunt, Yum Yum Fish. I wish they had a frequent buyer’s card like boba tea because I would have earned a free platter of sashimi by now.    Salmon nigiri has been our thing lately. White tuna was meh. The big deal

Happy 31st Birthdays boys! 

To commiserate how awesome us girls are, we take our birthday boys to Bobo’s on Lombard for their slabs of meat.  The crab cakes are divine; perfectly crisp & all crab, no fillers to hold us down.  Known for their bone-in filet mignons, this cut is basically butter on a bone. I could eat this all day. I was tempted to get the Porterhouse, which is 49+ ounces of steak perfection, but alas, reasonableness set…

Baby’s first diner

Little guy’s first time at Mel’s Diner. He enjoyed (I think) watching mom eat steak, eggs & a grilled vegetable salad. The medium rare steak was a perfect bridge for the transition from breakfast to lunch. (Did someone say brunch?) The salad was a bit lackluster but hey, at least I ate vegetables. Elephant Baby in a Bar

Baby’s first Elephant Bar experience. Since we buffeted earlier, we went light with the Cowboy Ribeye with sweet potato fries & sautéed veggies. Off the Grid was in the parking lot of Serramonte Mall. I prided myself with restraint for not going for a snack to scope out the DC food truck offerings.
